The Provincial Government of Sorsogon convened its department heads and key officials for the Exit Conference on the Financial Audit conducted by the Commission on Audit on April 23, 2026.
The activity formally marked the presentation of audit findings and recommendations following the comprehensive financial audit of the province. The conference was attended by provincial department heads, audit officials, and key stakeholders, underscoring the local government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management.
Sorsogon warmly welcomed Atty. Felix M. Basallaje Jr., Regional Director of COA Region V, who delivered the opening remarks. In his message, Director Basallaje emphasized the importance of upholding fiscal discipline, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring that public funds are utilized efficiently and in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
During the conference proper, Robert E. Beltran, Audit Team Leader of Audit Team R5-01 under LGAS F – Sorsogon Province, presented the Audit Observations and Recommendations. His presentation highlighted key findings from the audit, including areas for improvement in financial processes, compliance measures, and documentation practices, while also recognizing good practices observed within the provincial government.
In response, Sorsogon Provincial Administrator Franco Eric O. Ravanilla delivered a message on behalf of the provincial government, expressing appreciation for the audit team’s guidance and recommendations. He reiterated the province’s commitment to addressing the audit findings and continuously improving governance systems to serve the people of Sorsogon better.
The conference concluded with closing remarks from Ma. Soledad B. Azotea, Supervising Auditor of LGAS F – Sorsogon Province. She reiterated the vital role of collaboration between COA and the provincial government in promoting accountability and ensuring that public resources are managed responsibly.
The successful conduct of the Exit Conference reflects the shared commitment of both COA and the Provincial Government of Sorsogon to uphold integrity, transparency, and excellence in public service.
