“Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas”
The Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (SPDRRMC) and the Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (SPDRRMO) proudly join the nation in celebrating the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, with a series of activities aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness, resilience, and community participation.
Tomorrow, July 1, 2026, officially marks the opening of this month-long observance through the following kick-off activities:
📍 6:30 AM – Holy Mass Sorsogon Cathedral
📍 8:00 AM – NDRM Kick-Off Motorcade
Around the streets of Sorsogon City
The kick-off serves as a symbol of the Province’s unwavering commitment to building safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready communities through the collective efforts of government agencies, local government units, emergency responders, volunteers, civil society organizations, and the public.
Throughout July, SPDRRMO has lined up various capacity-building activities, including training programs, coordination meetings, GIS enhancement, open water diving orientation, Basic Life Support training, Exercise Design Course, and the 2nd Responders Assessment (Rescue Olympics). These initiatives are designed to continuously improve the preparedness and response capabilities of responders and partner agencies across the province.
The Provincial Government of Sorsogon invites everyone to actively participate in this year’s observance by promoting disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.
Together, let us continue to work hand in hand in creating a safe, resilient, and empowered Sorsogon.
